The Big Sky.

Juli and Hobbes took an epic road trip to Montana recently. In true Swissy fashion, they blogged the entire trip. Here are just a few highlights to whet your appetite:

Cows. Juli saw them on her last trip to the farm. Hobbes had never seen a cow before. Needless to say, it went well and he didn’t eat any of them (and vice versa).

Why, hello there. You sure do look funny.

We were a little unsure about how Hobbes would do riding in the back of the truck, especially since prior to the trip to Montana he wouldn’t even jump into the back of our Subaru. Well, it was either the excitement of the farm, the encouragement from his cousin Henry or the clean mountain air because he was jumping in and out of the trucks and cars like a champ on the very first day.

Juli, Hobbes and Henry. Ready to ride.

We took the dogs on a lot of hikes in the Mission Mountains. They did awesome.

Is this the right way?

Ahhhh. That’s refreshing.

Juli grabs a little shade.

Yet another hike.

Henry obviously knows where to go. Juli and Hobbes don’t.

The scenery ain’t too bad either.

No trip to Montana can be complete without a little farm work. Juli and Hobbes pitched right in.

Hey! It’s your turn to carry the sprinkler pipe.

Are we done yet?

Last one to the house smells like a cowpie!

Und tschüss!

Uh? Could I get a little help here?

It’s sorta like “Where’s Waldo?” except here it’s where are the Swissies and where are the cows?

Will Cenex deliver a stock tank to Chicago?

Henry is a water dog through and through. When he’s not trying to eat the wake from the boat he actually spends a little time enjoying the views on Flathead Lake.

Stoic.

Juli and Hobbes did A LOT of swimming in Montana.

Walkin’ the plank.

Hobbes works on his doggie paddle.

Juli says, “I can swim when I want to”.

What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is, well, um….

All in all, a fantastic trip to Montana. Now only if Hobbes would sleep through the night in a hotel room…

Bis zum nächsten Mal!
